Cocktail Time: Holiday Cranberry Lemonade

I'm not normally much of a cocktailer until this time of year. There's something about the holiday season that gets me in the mood to drink something a little more fun than my standard glass of wine. I love a festive cocktail, but I find that they can sometimes be too difficult or intimidating to make at home. They can require lots of obscure liqueurs or ingredients that end up collecting dust on your bar cart as you try to figure out how else to use them, right?

My sister Emma helped me create this cocktail to sip on while we grazed on snacks on Thanksgiving afternoon. It's festive cranberry flavor makes it perfect for serving at holiday parties throughout this season and the recipe is is uncomplicated and easy to double or triple if you're serving a crowd. It is also super light and refreshing-- two words that are not often used to describe winter cocktails. And I highly recommend the addition of a rosemary sprig. The herbaceous smell and flavor are a perfect compliment to this simple cocktail.

Cheers!

Ingredients:
  • 3 cups Veev Vita Frute Lemonade cocktail, chilled
  • 1 cup 100% cranberry juice, chilled
  • 1/2 cup club soda, chilled
  • Ice
  • Rosemary sprigs
  • Whole cranberries, for garnish (optional)

In a large pitcher, combine the Vita Frute Lemonade and cranberry juice.

Fill 4 glasses (I liked shorter old-fashioned glasses for these cocktails) with ice and pour in the cranberry lemonade mixture to about 2/3 of the way up. Top off with a little club soda. Garnish each drink with a rosemary sprig and a few cranberries (if desired) and serve chilled.
