A visit from the Easter Bunny

A belated happy Easter wish to all of you!

I certainly hope your holiday weekend was better than mine.

I had lots of big plans for the weekend: egg dying, a visit to the Art Institute, cocktails with friends in town visiting from Indiana, brunch reservations in Wicker Park, and a fabulous Easter dinner made by yours truly. I was going to have lots of great recap posts prepared for you this week with recipes, holiday photos, City Walks... what I didn't expect was that I'd end up curled up on the couch with a respiratory/sinus infection all weekend.  Boo.

So instead, I ended up with canceled brunch reservations, a dozen hard boiled (and un-dyed) eggs in my fridge, a whole chicken back in my freezer, and many empty boxes of tissue.

My husband took good care of me and made me leave the house for an Easter Sunday walk to Starbucks and then he ordered pasta from our favorite Italian place for our Easter dinner on the couch.

So, bear with me as I come back to life this week. I do have at least one Easter post coming your way eventually. It's a special holiday dessert recipe and the only thing I was able to prepare before my illness knocked me out. I may also try to make our belated Easter dinner this week-- perhaps as a celebration of Mad Men coming back to TV. We shall see.
