The Easter Bunny found his way back to our house again! |
Are you in a food/sugar coma? We certainly are here! I had a lot of fun making Easter dinner tonight and I am excited to share a recap of my menu with you. Later this week I will be writing a post totally dedicated to our 2012 Easter dinner, but right now I am still too full to think about it.
For the third year in a row, my sister Emma came out to Chicago to join us for Easter weekend. Her Easter visits have become a fun new tradition for us. The weekend consisted of many Easter traditions, a lot of eating, and (since Emma is 21 now) a lot of cocktailing. Some highlights of our weekend included:
Some serious egg dying took place this weekend. I have attempted to show you only the appropriate eggs and some of them were definitely rated PG-13...
On Saturday we dined al fresco at the French Market and spotted some Chicago celebrities (Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari) a few tables away and that night we took Emma to our favorite pizza and wine bar La Madia.
And of course we had some cocktails: A Local Lemonade (vodka and pink lemonade topped off with Goose Island Green Line pale ale) at our local neighborhood bar on Friday night and some Easter Sunday mimosas-- first at brunch in Wicker Park and then later that afternoon enjoying a sliver of sunshine on our deck next to my dead basil plants. More details on my brown thumb to follow at a later date.
